Your holiday doesn't have to be naughty or sad! It's what whatever you make it, so make it fun! Put a little humor into your holiday this year!
Good, bad, or indifferent, we all have feelings that come alive, as the holiday season approaches! There is so much joy surrounding us, along with a little added stress!
As joyful as it seems, for most, yet it also can be a 'not so happy' time for many, who are either alone, or have lost a loved one!
Don't fear, there is recovery from loneliness! I've spent quite a few holidays by myself, and the only time I didn't enjoy it, was one time when I had the flu! The rest were quite enjoyable! I have to make it fun, with a little humor and a little joy and I pull it straight from my heart!
Years ago, I wanted to see how it felt, to be alone on such a commercialized holiday, such as Christmas! I knew that many people, spent it alone and so I wanted to warrior it for myself, and so I did! I new that if I could get through it alone, then the next would be nothing but, better!
What did I do? Well, I did what I would have done, had I been with friends or family! That's right! I did a minimal amount of decorating, just to get in the spirit, and then I prepared a meal for myself! I bought a few presents for my furry kids, and then I watched the Phantom of the Opera with Gerard Butler!
I never once got sad! It was actually quite nice, because I intended it to be! Another Christmas, I spent once again, with my fur-babies, and after a nice meal and doggie presents, we headed out to the farm with my camera! We spent the afternoon with my Arabian horse "Lock," took great photos, sat in the sun, and then came home to a little Hallmark Christmas movie! Done! We made it, had fun and I can now have great compassion for all those, who were also alone!
Of course, being the animal lover that I am, I highly recommend having a fur-baby by your side, always! The other tip I can give is, force yourself to get out in the hustle and bustle of it all! Even if you don't feel like it, or have no one to shop for, just get out to the stores, walk around, smell the wonderful smells of the holiday! Experience the sweets, the coffee treats and just enjoy the decorations that surround you!
I have also taken numerous drives, through the popular neighborhoods, which showcase their houses with elaborate lights; all with my furry kids in the car, of course!
If I can do it, then so can you! The holidays are whatever we want to make them! If you are alone, then get out in the hustle and bustle, for you won't be alone long!
The best way to overcome something you fear, such as being alone, is to face it head on! While I don't do much decorating anymore, I enjoy photographing my furry kids, by dressing them up, to keep my spirits up!
Naughty or being alone, isn't an option for me on this holiday season! I make it fun, no matter how I feel about it! There are people everywhere, this time of year, so drag yourself out to the busiest of places, and you'll quickly forget that you are alone!
Photography has been a Godsend to me, as well as my furry kids! It is one of my artistic outlets that gives me a chance to show others, my world, through my eyes! I have a strong love for animals and I love people too! For years, I have enjoyed making people more beautiful in the beauty industry, and now I do it through photography
