This Too Shall Pass
“This too shall pass” keeps coming to my mind over the last 16 months. Our nation and our world have been at war, and it seems there is no end in sight. I continually remind myself of these wise words from a woman I’ve known for years, “This too shall pass.” She is a physic I met in Canada many years ago, and I have stayed in touch over the years. She once told me these words, and now I know why.
While I fear we are going to end up in a civil war, and in some ways, we already are, I still hang onto my hope that there will be an end to this madness. It frightens me to see how we are reverting to not only racism, but we are also now being divided amongst our political beliefs, sexual preferences, our spiritual beliefs, and our beliefs on how we take care of our health.
I have never discriminated against people for their race, or their spiritual beliefs, political beliefs, or anything else, and I won’t start now. Yet, when I go to places of businesses and see signs on doors that say, “Fully vaccinated People may enter without wearing a mask,” this is discriminatory and unacceptable. How did we get to this point? The very people who say they do not discriminate are now discriminating against people who are not vaccinated. Discriminatory is discriminatory, and there are no two ways around it. What happened to equality?
As a business owner of Tamarah’s Closet, LLC, which encompasses my photography studio and my magazine, I do not discriminate against people. I welcome all races, religious beliefs, political beliefs, and I welcome the freedom of choice to vaccinate or not be vaccinated. I won’t be putting signs on my door that are discriminatory. That is inhumane to me. There needs to be some form of humanity in this world, and we seem to have lost it.
I think of all my years as a hairstylist and the thousands of times women sat in my chair to get their hair styled, only to find out halfway through their color or cut, they disclose how sick they have been, and yet they sit there in my chair anyway, putting my own health at risk.
These same people are protesting those who are not vaccinated. Where were their concern and care when they sat in my chair, only to give me the flu later, or their cold? Did I punish them later? No, I did not. Because just like Covid, there is a 99.8 percent survival rate and there is also a chance of death with the already compromised with any type of virus. It’s called living our lives and most of the time we are contagious, we don’t even know it yet.
I shall not be a biased company, whether it’s in my studio or my magazine. I believe we should be able to go into a business and not know what someone’s politics are, and if we do know, we should not let that stop us from doing business with someone. We are supposed to be a free nation and we are supposed to support each other’s businesses so that we remain free. It is the small businesses that keep our economy going and doing business with each other keeps us all abundant.
While the rest of the world is at odds and hate among each other, Tamarah’s Closet will not discriminate against sex, sexual preferences, politics, race, religion, health choices, or anything else, unless you are a criminal here to destroy. It's time to respect each other again.
I will continue to hope that this too shall pass and pray for it to pass very soon. I love my freedom and I love my country. Politicians and the mainstream media continue to stir up hate and divide the people, yet at the end of the day, it is our responsibility and our choice as to whether we fall privy to their destructive game. I choose not to follow the corruption of the government.
I choose to use my own mind to think and to make my own decisions to create unity and rise above the hate. I hope others will follow my lead. It takes courage to stand away from the crowd. It takes no courage to follow. Be a person of courage and stop the hate now and stop the discrimination we see going on in our world today.
Spread love, not hate. Don't divide, unite!
To your own success, keep rockin it!
